It had kind of a strange smell but it wasn't a problem. Anyway, our room (#231) was clean and comfortable. since they had my phone number as part of the reservation. Because of how only 5 minutes had passed, I couldn't help but wonder whether someone at the front desk could have given me a call to let me know. Fortunately, our room was ready then, but we were told that the room had been ready about 5 minutes after we left around 3. (Our hope was to get settled in at the hotel before going out and exploring the town, but that wasn't possible due to the room not being ready.) We went off and did a few things around town and then came back at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, but unfortunately our room wasn't ready yet. We arrived at just about the official check-in time of 3 p.m.
